Spring Birdhouse Centerpiece
This
centerpiece is easy to make and will bring the beauty of Spring
into your home. Following is a list of items that you will need to
create this project:
Tall bunch of silk yellow flowers
Short bunch of silk petunia's or other spring flower
Oval shaped short bowl or vase
Floral foam
Moss
Heavy white cardstock
Brown Corrugated paper
Scissors
Printed template (found below)
Wire cutters
Black paper
Glue
Colored flower brads
Brown colored pencil
Directions:
Cut the floral foam to fit in the vase. Cut the short bunch of
flowers apart. Place the tall bunch of yellow flowers in the floral
foam and arrange them so they look more real. Arrange the petunia's
around the yellow flower bunch so that they cover most of the
yellow flower stem. Put the moss in around the bottom to cover the
foam and stems.
Cut out the template and trace it onto the white cardstock. Cut out
the shape you traced and fold it as shown in the template. Glue the
box so that it stays together. Cut out four pieces of corrugated
paper so that it fits around the base of the house. Cut a circle in
one of the larger pieces of corrugated paper and glue black paper
on the back so that when you look at the paper from the front you
see the black paper showing through. Glue the corrugated paper onto
the birdhouse, and color the roof brown. Poke holes in the paper to
insert the colored flower brads. Place the birdhouse in with the
flowers and put a small fake bird or butterfly in amongst the
flowers.
