Starfish Gel CandleStarfish Gel Candle

Make this lovely sea-themed gel candle for gifting or to decorate your home.

Materials:

  • small clear glass container
  • gel wax
  • double-boiler for melting gel wax
  • candle wick
  • colored sand - blue (available in craft stores in candle-making section)
  • starfish object

Directions:

1. Cut off a wick, a little less than the size of your container.

2. Hold your wick in the center of the glass container and fill the container one-third with blue colored sand. This will hold the wick in place.

3. Place a starfish object on the sand. You can find one at craft or toy stores.

4. Melt gel wax in a double boiler and pour slowly into the container to avoid generating bubbles. If you are new to making gel candles and end up with bubbles in your candles, do not worry. Bubbles look beautiful too, and will only enhance the look of this sea-themed candle.

5. Allow the wax to cool down and completely set before disturbing the container.

Gel candles make beautiful gift ideas and are also pretty to use for decorating your home for special occasions. These little 'container gel candles' are also perfect for table-decorating.
