Terry Towel Organizer

Terry Towel Organizer

Sew a multi-purpose organizer to keep your personal belongings safe and organized, when traveling, in soft terry cloth compartments. An easy project for beginners.

Supplies:

  • Terry Cloth 18" x 15" (We have used half a terry hand towel)
  • Thin Ribbon
  • Velcro
  • Fabric Glue
  • Basic Sewing supplies like Sewing Machine, thread etc.

Directions:

1. Fold the terry towel over and mark how long you want the compartments to be, leaving space at the top for a closing flap.

2. Turn the towel wrong side out and stitch the sides. When sewing on the right edge, tuck in the ribbon. Turn right side out. You should have a purse-like form.

3. Fold the 'purse' in half and crease the fold. Fold both the sides bringing them to match the centre crease and crease the folds again. You should now have 3 crease-Terry Towel Organizer - Closed Viewmarks. Sew on these marks to make compartments of the organizer. You can choose to make more compartments depending upon your requirements and the size of the things you wish to keep in them.

4. Fold the top flap over and glue velcro strips to close the flap. Let the fabric glue dry completely. See manufacturer's instructions for how long to dry.

5. Place your belongings into the compartments, close the flap and roll up the organizer. Use the ribbons to tie up securely.
