Easter Egg Garland

Begin by gathering:

• Plastic Easter eggs
• Power drill
• Fishing line or twine
• Metal upholstery needle
• Beads (optional)
• Scissors

1.) Split the plastic Easter eggs into their two parts and lay them out flat.

2.) Fit the power drill with a 1/16” drill bit or smaller and working from the outside in, drill a small hole into each side of each plastic egg. You may want to place a small piece of masking tape where you will be drilling to prevent the egg from cracking and chipping.

3.) Cut a piece of the fishing line or twine a little longer than you would like your garland. Thread the twine onto the upholstery needle.

4.) Place a bead on the end of the twine. Follow this with one half of an egg. Next thread the other half of the egg onto the twine. Once both ends are on the twine, you can fit the two halves together. It is easier to do it this way than to try to thread the egg as one piece.

5.) Thread on another bead and then follow the same process to thread the plastic egg onto the twine. Continue to do this until the entire twine is filled with eggs and beads.

Wrap the garland outside on columns and pillars, or lay it across bushes in the garden. The Easter garland can be used in the same fashion that Christmas garland is used. For garland that is to be used indoors, you can use Styrofoam eggs that have been painted, if that is easier.
