Decorated Gift Bags

Materials Needed:

Plain Brown Paper Bags
Sponge
Acrylic paints
Hole puncher
Thin Wool Roping for Handles
Curling ribbon
Bows
Scissors
Glue

Directions:

1. Cut the sponge into any shape. Dip into acrylic paint on a saucer, blot away the excess and then place on bag and lift straight up. Use either one color or 2-3 colors. We have used yellow, teal and red.

2.  Allow to dry. Turn down the bag a couple of inches at the top and punch two holes about 2" apart using a hole puncher.

3. Cut 2 pieces measuring 6 inches each (smaller if your bag is small) and pass it through the holes. Knot the ends of the rope on the inside of the bag.

4. Make a circle of glue near any of the punched holes and stick small pieces of curling ribbon on it. Use 2-3 colors of ribbon.

5. On the bottom edge diagonally opposite to where you have placed the curling ribbons, stick a bow.

And you are done! make several of these in varying colors and use them to give cookies or candies or gifts other than food items.
