Fall Wreath and Candle
Fall Centerpiece Ideas
You will need:
- medium-sized wreath made of straw, grapevine, or other natural
material
- good quality pillar candle wide enough to fit snuggly in the
center of the wreath
- assortment of fall leaves
- pinecones, seasonal flowers, small pumpkins, acorns, and other
fall items
- florist wire, hot glue gun
Cover your work space with newspaper or a drop-cloth. Lay the wreath
flat on the table, and glue the fall leaves onto the wreath with the
hot glue gun. You can completely cover the wreath or leave bits of
it exposed, depending on your own tastes. Set aside to allow the
glue to dry completely.
Attach your other fall naturals to the wreath using the glue gun or
by wiring them on with the florist wire. You can poke holes in the
leaf cover with the wire to attach items like pinecones and flowers
to the wreath. When the wreath is decorated, set it aside once again
to dry.
Place your wreath on the table and carefully insert the candle into
the center. If you've purchased a good quality candle, it should be
safe to burn for a few hours since the wax will melt and pool
inwards towards the wick rather than down the sides towards your
wreath. Keep the candle away from drafts to help it burn evenly.
Always watch your candles to ensure safe burning, however: never
leave a lit candle unattended.
