Sea in a Jar - A simple, yet pretty decorating ideaSea in a Jar

Bring the sea to your table with this simple idea for a 'Sea in a Jar'. A beautiful way to use the pretty seaweed you couldn't resist bringing along with you from your beach picnic or the beautiful seashells and shining pebbles that you collected on your last beach trip!

You will need:

  • a clear glass jar or glass
  • seaweed
  • a metal flower stem holder used for arranging flowers (also called a 'frog')
  • seashells, conches, shiny stones collected from seashores etc.

Directions:

1. Clean your glass or jar thoroughly. Using a broader jar will make working easier.

2. Fix a single stem (or multiple stems) of seaweed into the stem-holder.

4. Arrange the seashells and sparkly stones on the 'bed' taking care to completely cover the stem-holder.

5. Fill the glass/jar with water and you are done!

Place your 'sea in a jar' on a side-table or a center-table or even a windowsill and bring the fresh sea-breeze (along with the memories of your seaside vacation) to your room.
