Foot Care Tips for Men : A guy's guide to a basic pedicure

A guy's guide to a basic pedicure(NC)—Men's footwear opens up in the summer — literally. And that calls for good foot care. Many men still think pedicures are girly, but pampering your piggies doesn't have to compromise your manhood. If you're going to slide into a pair of sandals or flip-floppy thongs this season, then squeeze in some basic foot care between your shower and your shave.

The Dos and the Don'ts

• DO rinse and dry your feet thoroughly after your daily shower.

• DO trim your toenails straight across.

• DON'T cut your nails too short.

• DO use a foot file or pumices to buff down calluses and slough off dry or dead skin.

• DON'T wear the same shoes every day.

Be kind to your feet. Soak them in warm water with foot salts once in a while. And rub them down with a refreshing and moisturizing foot cream from time to time.

The Switch Up

Experts recommend changing your footwear regularly, not just when you've worn out the heel or toe. With so much style out there this season from hip, cool brands like Skechers, you can easily switch it up with just the right shoe, sandal or sneaker to match your personality or mood.

Healthy Feet are Happy Feet!
